LEAVE NO TRACES
It's not just about looking good, it's also about doing and feeling good - wearing responsibly produced clothes that have as little impact on our environment as possible. Sustainability is a hot topic and conscious consumers today have the opportunity to choose from many products with reduced environmental impact. At Scampi we know that swimwear can be stylish and sustainable at the same time and our vision is to have no negative impact on our beautiful planet. To achieve our goal, we have taken a number of steps and we will continuously improve and develop our process. Some of the things we are doing today are collaborating with Aquafil, the leading manufacturer of sustainable recycled nylon yarn - ECONYL®, to produce our swimwear in European factories with fair working conditions and to fully climate compensate for the remaining impact created during our production - and more - to ensure that all our products are climate positive.
All Scampi products are climate positive, which means that they do not contribute to global warming through a comprehensive assessment by an independent third party - we compensate for 120% of our remaining emissions. Achieving climate positivity is all about math. By having Tricorona Climate Partner calculate and analyze all emissions throughout our supply chain, from sewing thread production to webshop deliveries, we can apply strategies to reduce these emissions as much as possible. We then compensate for 120% of the carbon dioxide emissions that still remain. Our emissions are calculated according to the ISO 14021 standard and our compensations reduce emissions by supporting certified climate projects in developing countries where it has the greatest positive effect for our planet. This season, we are also supporting the solar power plant in Godawari in Rajasthan, India, which produces tons of fossil-free energy every day that is used in the electricity grid. The facility is the first of its kind and leads the way for scaled-up solar power generation in India and the project is UN-sanctioned and certified through both CDM and Gold Standard.
